Angela is the newest member and cellist in the Chameleon String Quartet. She is a recent graduate of SUNY Potsdam, The Crane School of Music, where she received her bachelor's degree in Music Education. Angela performed at Carnegie Hall with the Crane Symphony Orchestra in 2005. She is currently working towards a master's degree in music at Hofstra University.

Angela teaches elementary orchestra to many young musicians in the East Islip School District. She occasionally performs with the Long Island Chamber Symphony in Glen Cove, N.Y. and has
played with the North Shore Symphony Orchestra for several years in
the past.  

 

Deb Schaarschmidt is the first violinist of the Chameleon String Quartet. Deb started her musical career at California State University at Stanislaus where she did numerous performances and won a concerto competition in 1990. She completed her Bachelors of Arts in Music at SUNY Stonybrook.

Deb currently teaches Elementary Orchestra and beginning strings at Our Savior New American School. She has been teaching and playing professionally for 14 years. She played first violin for the Sonic String Quartet for 7 years and plays as a freelance violinist in the area.

 

Angela Sposato is the Music Chairperson in the Levitown School District and The Orchestra Director of the Middle School Orchestra.

In 1989 she was responsible for piloting a very successful string program at the East Rockaway School. Angela received her bachelors degree and her masters degree in music at C.W post. She is an excellent violinist and held the position of "concert master" in the C.W post Orchestra.

Angela has played in the West Islip Orchestra, where she led the violin section and played in the Sonic String Quartet for seven years. Angela is well respected as a teacher and a musician and regards playing in a quartet as her favorite past-time.

 

A native of Buffalo, New York, Heather Weeks received her bachelor's degree in education and performance from Ithaca College and her master's degree from SUNY Stony Brook.

She currently teaches middle school orchestra in the Middle Country School District. She regularly performs on viola with the Sound Symphony Orchestra, and she performs as a freelance violinist throughout Suffolk County. She also maintains a private violin and viola studio.
